| | Chapter 4 - Educator Helena |
 | | With the PWU System as the core and springboard of her career as lifelong learner and educator, Helena currently chairs the Board of Trustees and is president emeritus, a crowning and just reward for her previous labors as classroom teacher, academic administrator, executive vice president, and president. |
 | | Her international “career” started off in the ‘50s as an educator participating in conferences of professors and lecturers (Nice, France, 1951; Geneva, Switzerland, 1952), and in congresses of university women (London, England, 1953; Istanbul, 1954), as well as head of mission for the Bayanihan (Brussels, Belgium; Broadway, U.S.A.). |
 | | Still in the international limelight, Helena was elected the first woman member of the Administrative Board of the International Association of University Presidents (in Moscow, 1975 - 1980; re-elected in Manila, for 1980 - 1985); chairperson of the General Douglas McArthur Memorial Foundation, R. P.; and vice chairperson of the Pacific Memorial Freedom Foundation, U.S.A. |
