International Churches of Christ have also accepted and adapted certain beliefs and practices foreign to the majority of the Churches of Christ.
The International Churches of Christ teaches that a person is saved by grace through a personal faith and the power of God at the point of repentance and baptism by immersion, and that once baptized, you are added to God's heavenly church, and to the church here on earth.

 REVEAL: The Organization of the International Churches of Christ (ICC) (ICOC)
The United Churches of Christ (background: Congregationalism/Protestantism -- generally UCC churches are liberal Protestant) and the Disciples of Christ (background: American Restoration Churches of Christ, aka Mainline Churches of Christ) have no association nor connection with the International Churches of Christ.
In ICC literature, and particularly in any organization chart produced by the group, you will notice that couples are always referred to by both their names, with the man's name coming first.
The local Evangelist in the ICC can largely structure things as he wishes, as long as his church is growing numerically, his contribution to the world ICC organization is sufficiently high, and none of his members are causing problems for the ICC as a whole.

The Churches of Christ broke with the Disciples of Christ because they opposed state and national mission societies and musical instruments in worship, which the Disciples of Christ were instituting.
While the Boston Movement is a splinter group of the mainline Church of Christ, and was openly disowned by the latter, the impact of the theology of the older group on it cannot be underestimated.
Christ’s humanity is elevated as the ideal, and while this is how all believers should view Him, to overemphasize it gives one an unbalanced picture of the Savior.

Beware of churches that warn of certain doom if you leave their "covering," or if you "break covenant." Once banished from the group, little compassion is shown the wayward one.
To leave the Boston Church of Christ - even to leave for another congregation of the Church of Christ - was not a recognized option; to leave was a weak, sinful thing to do, tantamount to opting for perdition.

I too was drawn into the London Church of Christ, but was only there for a few days before I looked it up on the Internet, as it sounded a little bit heavy.
Her eyes were immediately opened to what the [International] Church of Christ was trying to do and in her hurt and confusion she cried out to the Lord for help.
Ironically she is out of contact with that church now, but still has to live with the detrimental effects of all those years.
