The International Control Commission (ICC) was the international force established in 1954 that oversaw the implementation of the Geneva Accords that ended the First Indochina War.
Even with admissions from Hanoi, the North Vietnamese Army and Viet Cong are believed to have killed ICC members.
With the signing of the Paris Peace Accords of 1973, the ICC was dissolved and replaced with the International Commission of Control and Supervision (ICCS).

Another temporary commission was created by the Convention of July 29, 1852, which surveyed and increased the number of monuments marking the land boundary westward from El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua.
As the settlements grew along the boundary rivers and the adjoining lands began to be developed for agriculture in the late Nineteenth Century, questions arose as to the location of the boundary when the rivers changed their course and transferred tracts of land from one side of the river to the other.

International inspection teams in Vietnam have been sent into the countryside to monitor the truce agreed last Saturday in Paris.
The International Commission of Control and Supervision (ICCS) was created at the Paris Peace Accords - signed by the US, the Vietcong, North Vietnam and South Vietnam - on 27 January and includes delegates from Hungary, Poland, Canada and Indonesia.
A spokesman for the ICCS said they will be settling into their areas until the Military Commission has laid down the infrastructure for them to move to the fronts and supervise the ceasefire.

While Xuan Thuy led the official negotiating team representing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam at the talks in Paris, Le and United States National Security Advisor Dr. Henry Kissinger since February, 1970 engaged in secret talks that eventually led to a cease-fire in the Paris Peace Accords of January 27, 1973.
The basic history of the Accords included: release of POWs within 80 days; ceasefire to be monitored by International Commission of Control and Supervision (ICC); free and democratic elections to be held in South Vietnam; U.S. aid to South Vietnam would continue; DRV troops could remain in South Vietnam; reunification of Vietnam.
While January 27 is generally recognized as the enactment date of the Peace Accords, the talks continued out of necessity.

Son a warrant officer said investigators for the International Commission for Control and Supervision came to Sa Huynh in Quang Ngai province where he was stationed.
Son said the coastal port of Sa Huynh, 275 miles northeast of Saigon was seized by the Communists before the January 27 cease-fire but recaptured by government troops shortly after the peace agreement took effect.
