Hostile toward labor unions and their demands for an eight-hour workday, the McCormicks faced strikes by their workers in 1885 and 1886; the second of these, often regarded as one of the more important events in American labor history, was associated with the explosion of a bomb at Haymarket Square in Chicago.
For most of the twentieth century, International Harvester (IH) was one of the leading industrial corporations in the United States; its operations were concentrated in Chicago and its suburbs.
By 1986, most of what had been International Harvester became Navistar International Corp. By the end of the 1990s, Navistar, headquartered in suburban Warrenville, had become the nation's leading manufacturer of large trucks.

When International Harvester introduced the 15 series combines in 1968 the company had been building self-propelled combines for 26 years and had over a half century of experience in the combine business.
The 715 was equipped to handle grain heads from 10 to 20ft and several variations of 2, 3 and 4 row corn heads with 28 to 40 inch settings.

I started work at the International Harvester Company plant at Doncaster, UK back in 1964, which at that time was producing agricultural machinery under the McCormick International brand, including Farmall tractors, along with a range of construction and industrial equipment - crawler tractors and payloaders.
At its height, International Harvester employed nearly 6000 people in the UK with plants at Doncaster and Bradford, and also at Liverpool which was producing balers.
These were produced until the end of the 70's at which point it was updated to become the 84 series tractor range with improvements including the XL cab and 4 Wheel Drive and continued in production after the point in 1984 when the merger with Case took place.

 NMAH | International Harvester Mechanical Cotton Picking Machine
International Harvester developed the machine at the H. Hopson Plantation near Clarksdale, Miss., in the early 1940s and began manufacturing machines.
According to date code numbers, Old Red was the 25th of 30 picking machines manufactured in 1943, and was sold to Producers Cotton Oil Company in Fresno, Calif. After further development there, the machine, usually operated at 2 mph, picked 8,000 bales of cotton before being retired in 1959.
Using tractors to prepare the land and cultivate, herbicides to clean the fields of weeds, and mechanical harvesters to pick the cotton, the crop changed from one that required large amounts of labor to a capital-intensive operation.

International was improving its vehicles so rapidly during the period from 1930 to 1940 that the "C" line was short-lived.
This was an all International engine and as this engine was improved it became the 214 cubic inch Green Diamond engine that was used by International in its trucks until 1949.
With the knowledge that the International Green Diamond engine is related to the HD-3 engine, I didn't have any trouble finding engine parts.
