The International Horror Guild (originally the International Horror Critics Guild) was created in 1995 as a way to recognize the achievements of those who create in the field of Horror and Dark Fantasy.
The International Horror Guild really consists of those who have a deep and abiding affection for the genre and are willing to assert their opinions.
The IHG Awards are announced annually during a special presentation at a convention or other event.

As a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette in the early 1990s, I was introduced to the weird fiction of a little known writer named Robert Aickman by the director of my dissertation, Joseph Andriano.
