The ISAF World Sailing Championships in Cascais, Portugal are the first of two qualifying events for country team selections to the Beijing Olympics.
This year sees the 100th anniversary of the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) and ISAF are calling on all Member Nation Authorities (MNA's) to celebrate 100 years of sailing by holding a simultaneous Sail The World weekend on the 1st and 2nd of September 2007.
Many sailing clubs will be holding open days and introductory sailing courses as well as mini regattas, sunset cruises and advanced race training and many of the events (if not all) will, in the spirit of the occasion be free to enter.
