About us | International Socialist Tendency
A socialist society can only be built when workers collectively seize control of that wealth and democratically plan its production and distribution according to human needs instead of profit.
The member groups of the International Socialist Tendency are taking the first steps towards the building of such international revolutionary socialist parties--rooted in the work place and able to provide political direction within the working-class movement.
The revolutionary socialist party can only be built through the involvement of socialists in the daily struggles of workers and the oppressed.

International Socialist Tendency - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Where it differs with many is on the question of the Soviet Union, the IST adopting the position that it was state capitalist, rather than a degenerated worker's state, and the theories of the permanent arms economy and deflected permanent revolution.
Unlike many international tendencies the IST has no formal organisational structures and has only ever made one publicly known decision, which was to expel the American International Socialist Organization from its ranks.
The International Socialist Organization in the United States, Socialist Alternative in Australia, Socialisme International in France [2] and the International Socialist Organisation in New Zealand all consist of former members of the IST and remain based on the basic ideas of the IS Tradition.

International Socialist Organization - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The International Socialist Organization (ISO), is a Trotskyist organization in the United States, claiming to have approximately 1,300 members.
The ISO originated in 1977 when members of the International Socialists became disturbed by moves in that group to abandon its traditional rank and file strategy of working in the trade unions.
In 2000 the ISO was expelled from the International Socialist Tendency, the only publicly recorded decision known of from that body, after a bitter dispute between the majority of the IST and the leadership of the ISO.
