Cold fusion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
By definition, Cold fusion is a nuclear fusion reaction that takes place at or near room temperature and normal pressure instead of the millions of degrees required for plasma fusion reactions.
The conference is held every 12 to 18 months in various countries around the world, and is hosted by The International Society for Condensed Matter Nuclear Science, a scientific organization that was founded as a professional society to support research efforts and to communicate experimental results.
Nuclear transmutations are by definition nuclear reactions and the nuclear ash remains after the experiment for a long time.

We point out that both nuclear magnetic resonance and electron spin resonance on doped rings are adequate experimental techniques for the detection of coherent spin quantum tunneling in antiferromagnetic molecular rings.
For a single nuclear or impurity spin coupled to one of the electron spins of the ring, we calculate nuclear and electronic spin correlation functions and show that nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and electron spin resonance (ESR) techniques can be used to detect coherent tunneling of the Neel vector in these rings.

Yes, I know that the speculation is silly; the value of R (beyond the region occupied by neutrons and protons) is determined by the range of nuclear forces.
Cross sections of nuclear reactions induced by charged particles, even for gadolinium, are never as large as for reactions induced by slow neutrons.

Plasma Science and Technology - Basics - Overview
Plasmas are the most common form of matter, comprising more than 99% of the visible universe, and permeate the solar system, interstellar and intergalactic environments.
On the other extreme, quark-gluon plasmas (although mediated via the strong force field versus the electromagnetic field) are extremely dense nuclear states of matter.
Because plasmas are conductive and respond to electric and magnetic fields and can be efficient sources of radiation, they can be used in innumerable applications where such control is needed or when special sources of energy or radiation are required.

World nuclear capacity is projected to rise from 361 gigawatts in 2003 to 438 gigawatts in 2030, with significant declines in capacity projected only for Europe, where several countries have either plans or mandates to phase out nuclear power, or where old reactors are expected to be retired and not replaced.

Two discussion lists were used to announce the initiative: PHYS-L (~200 subscribers, mostly physics teachers) and CMNS (~ 150 subscribers, members of the International Society of Condensed Matter Nuclear Science).
Most members of that society either conduct or conducted research in three areas of CMNS: cold fusion (CF), cold transmutations (CT) and excess energy (EE).
By the way, those who are very skeptical about CMNS phenomena will not object to the calibration on the basis that "nuclear energy might possibly be released on the metallic surface." They think that this is impossible.

 Review of ICCF11
On Monday evening, Akito Takahashi, Vittorio Violante, William Collis, and I provided an overview of the history and evolution of a new political/scientific development: the formation of a new scientific society, the International Society of Condensed Matter Nuclear Science (www.iscmns.org).
He also discussed other instances in which authority figures in science have denied scientists involved in controversial areas of research (including extra-sensory perception, and cold fusion, in general terms) the privilege of having their work published, based on entirely unscientific and (at times) unethical reasons.
In particular, he previously found that the D+D nuclear fusion reaction rate in metals can be strongly enhanced, in some cases, as much as ~100 times larger at incident, kinetic energies of ~1 KeV.
