The concept of Interstate 165 was born out of the demise of the Interstate 210 proposal.

Interstate 165 northbound widens to four lanes with the addition of the Whistler Street on-ramp.
Interstate 165 in conjunction with U.S. 90/Bay Bridge Road is a good alternative for traffic headed to Baldwin County from north and West Mobile in lieu of Interstate 65 to Interstate 10.

Interstate 265 (abbreviated I-265) is an Interstate Highway ringing the Louisville, Kentucky metropolitan area, which includes southern Indiana, although the Indiana and Kentucky segments remain separate at the present time.
Cable medians are planned for installation in the 10 mile stretch from Interstate 71 to Interstate 64 by September 2006, with further installation possible in the near future.
Interstate 264, the Henry Watterson Expressway, is Louisville's inner beltway and the later constructed Interstate 265 is Louisville's outer beltway.

Interstate 40 stays in scenic environs through western Arkansas and Little Rock, a city in which the interstate barely skirts its northern side.
Interstate 40 was originally planned to go through the center of Memphis but neighborhood opposition shot down that proposal.
The mile markers on Interstate 40 throughout the state reflect the original Memphis routing of Interstate 40, so when traveling east on Interstate 40, Exit 10 is followed by Exit 12A for Interstate 40 East, and then followed by Exit 10 again on the original Interstate 40 route.

With the decline in Prichard's prosperity, the rise of the suburbs, and the arrival of Interstate 165 (depicted to the left) even, this intersection is nothing more then a shadow of its former self.
Whistler Street, which was rebuilt with the construction of Interstate 165 between 1993/94, is four lanes and divided at this point.

Interstate 565 was added to the Interstate system in December 1968, and was estimated to cost $60.4 million in 1970 dollars ($273 million in 2001*).
Interstate 865 is too new to have been included in the most recent update to FHWA's highway log, which took place Oct. 31, 2002.
