Interstate 175 begins its westbound journey from a ramp originating at the intersection of Florida 687/Fourth Street South and Delmar Terrace South in downtown St. Petersburg.
There are no exits from Interstate 175 westbound; while the eastbound direction acts as a distributor to various downtown streets, westbound acts as a collector from those same downtown streets onto Interstate 275.

Interstate 75 (abbreviated I-75) is an interstate highway in the midwest and southeastern United States.
The final stretch of Interstate 75 was completed in 1986 in Dade (present Miami-Dade) and Broward Counties in Florida, although the last stretch to receive the I-75 signage was a revamped Alligator Alley in 1993.
I-175 and I-375 are very brief Interstates that go east into downtown St. Petersburg, while I-275 goes into downtown Tampa, across the Howard Frankland Bridge into St. Petersburg, then south across the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, reconnecting with I-75 in Manatee County, Florida.

At only 1.15 miles (1.85 km) in length, Interstate 375 (abbreviated I-375) in Detroit has the distinction of being the shortest signed Interstate Highway.

It would be nice if Interstate 375 was built to 4 St N matching its counterpart with Interstate 175 but I believe it cannot be done due to the historic buildings in the way, including St. Petersburg's Coliseum which has been a landmark for many years.

Notice carefully the ramp to the left which carries travelers onto Interstate 375 westbound from 8 St N as well as the so many sets of concrete girders and support piers that were required to construct Interstate 375 through here, primarily to avoid the 55+ condominium complex on the right (not shown).

However, when a funding issue led the state to cancel part of I-75 in Hillsborough County, five miles of eligible interstate were released.
I-175 opened on April 23, 1980, at a cost of $5.5 million: at the time, the most expensive highway per mile built in Florida.

In the past decade, about 26,000 oleanders were planted on the interstate and around the city as part of Fischer's "Operation Greenscape" beautification plan.
This week, the city removed 2,750 diseased oleanders from the interstate, transforming Fischer's interstate garden into shallow pits of soil.
The plants have been removed from the medians on Interstate 275 (between Fifth Avenue N and 30th Avenue N), Interstate 175 (between Fourth and Eighth streets) and in other isolated spots in the city where the oleanders looked particularly bad, Footlick said.
