TAMPA - On-again, off-again plans to widen Interstate 275 north of the Howard Frankland Bridge are once again in the works.
Now, Florida's Department of Transportation says the widening can be done in three phases, although officials will have to scramble to pay for the final two, interstate project manager Adam Perez said.
The final stage, widening southbound I-275 from Himes to the river, could start in 2010, but that also could change as the state looks for funding.
