Interstate 290 is a conglomerate of several highways constructed in different eras.
Interstate 290 is very tightly routed through the western suburbs and the west side of Chicago, with very little room for any kind of expansion.
Interstate 90 was relocated to the John F. Kennedy Expressway and Northwest Tollway via Interstate 94 and Former Illinois 194.

Interstate 290 (Ohio) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Interstate 290 (abbreviated I-290) in Ohio was a planned route which would have included what is now I-490 and would have connected to I-271.
The original plans of the Cleveland and other city and federal highway authorities called for the highway, also known as the Clark Freeway, to bisect the East Side and the eastern suburbs.
An earlier number for part of I-290 was I-80N.

Interstate 90 (abbreviated I-90) is the longest interstate highway in the United States at over 3,000 miles (4,800 kilometers).
It is arguable that Interstate 280 (Ohio) is as much a spur of Interstate 90 as it is of Interstate 80 because Interstate 80 and 90 designate the same highway (the Ohio Turnpike) in northwestern Ohio.
Additionally, it is part of the longest interstate triplex in the country, as it is joined with I-39 and I-94 from Portage, Wisconsin to Madison, Wisconsin.

Unlike Cleveland and Cincinnati, the central cities in Ohio's two largest metropolitan areas, Columbus is ringed by relatively few suburbs; since the 1950s it has made annexation a condition for providing water and sewer service, to which it holds regional rights throughout a large portion of Central Ohio.
The Ohio Statehouse, built of Columbus limestone from the Marble Cliff Quarry Co., began construction in 1839 on a 10 acre (40,000 mВІ) plot of land donated by four prominent Columbus landowners to form Capitol Square, not part of the original layout of the city.

The Radio Act of 1927 as a Product of Progressivism
The two key provisions in the law were the creation of a new government commission and the commission's mandate to regulate radio in the "public interest, convenience, and necessity." Modeled after the Interstate Commerce Commission and the Federal Trade Commission, Congress created the Federal Radio Commission (renamed Federal Communications Commission in 1934).
The application of the standard meant that unpopular ideas, such as economic or social views opposed to the dominant ideology, and minority political candidates would not be heard.
Besides being Congressional experts on radio, White specialized in railroad legislation and Dill served on the Interstate Commerce Commission, meaning both were familiar with the concept of public interest before writing the Radio Act.
