Interstate 95 is one of the most well-known and travelled highways in the Interstate system, connecting the cities along the Northeast corridor with the sunny environs of Florida.

Interstate 295 (abbreviated I-295) in New Jersey and Delaware is a bypass route from a junction with Interstate 95 south of Wilmington, Delaware to a junction with I-95 north of Trenton, New Jersey.
I-295 crosses the Delaware River via the Delaware Memorial Bridge, which is actually two suspension bridges carrying traffic in opposite directions.
I-295 will be truncated to its present junction with Interstate 195, and I-195 will be extended north, west and south over I-295 and I-95 to the new interchange.

Interstate 495 (abbreviated I-495) runs 66.38 miles (106.2 km) entirely within New York state, from the Queens-Midtown Tunnel in New York City to Riverhead, New York, through the counties of Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk, ending just before the "fish-tail" separation of the North and South Forks of eastern Long Island.
Originally, I-495 was to stretch from the Queens Midtown Tunnel and I-278 to I-295, the Clearview Expressway.
The oldest tree in the New York metropolitan area, called the "Queens Giant," is very close to the Long Island Expressway in Northeastern Queens, New York (near the Douglaston Plaza Mall).

Interstate 295 constitutes a 9.10-mile routing between the Bruckner Interchange in the Bronx to Hillside Avenue near Hollis.
The routing between Interstate 95 and the Long Island Expressway was planned as Interstate 495 for a brief time in 1958, with Interstate 78 entailing the Clearview Expressway south of the L.I.E. By December of 1958, the Interstate 78 designation saw extension northward to the planned Throgs Neck Bridge and Expressway.
Interstate 78 was to travel east from the Holland Tunnel across the unconstructed Lower Manhattan Expressway to the unconstructed Bushwick Expressway, partially-built Nassau Expressway, and partially-built Clearview Expressway.

(D) From Princeton, New Jersey, Staten Island, New York: take Highway 1 South to Interstate 295 North to 95 South (this section of I-95 is not the New Jersey Turnpike and it actually goes North for a short distance and then South West towards the Pennsylvania Turnpike).
