Last Updated: 10/1/2005 11:42:01 PM Nashville police say two people died and at least 11 were injured Saturday afternoon when a tanker truck carrying corn starch on Interstate 24 crossed over into oncoming traffic and crashed into three vehicles.
The truck was traveling east on I-24 near its junction with I-440 when another tractor trailer truck coming off an I-440 ramp hit the tanker truck, causing it to cross over the median and overturn onto westbound lanes around 3 p.m.
One of the three vehicles hit by the truck caught fire, and two people in the car were declared dead at the scene.
