Interstate 40 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Interstate 40 (abbreviated I-40) is a major west-east interstate highway in the United States.
Its western terminus is at Interstate 15 in Barstow, California; its eastern terminus is at a concurrency of U.S. Route 117 and North Carolina State Highway 132 in Wilmington, North Carolina.
In 1982, as part of Oklahoma's "Diamond Jubilee", I-44's western terminus was moved from the I-35/I-44 junction to the Texas/Oklahoma border via the Belle Isle Freeway (connecting I-440 with I-35), I-440, the H.E. Bailey Turnpike, and the turnpike connector road on the eastern edge of Lawton, Oklahoma.

Interstate Bike Route 1 (IBR-1) is currently aligned with Minnieville Rd for 8.2 miles, from Davis Ford Rd/VA-641 to Dumfries Rd/VA-234.
The Interstate Bike Route designation does not MANDATE on-road bike accommodation for ALL route segments; for example, the Mount Vernon Trail, not the existing GW Parkway, was designated (but is still unsigned!) as Virginia's northernmost IBR-1 segment.
Nevertheless, the Interstate Bike Routes are intended and widely promoted as long-distance, scenic, on-road bikeways for experienced touring cyclists, and bicycling should be accommodated on the roadway whenever feasible.
