At the Bruckner Interchange, junction of Interstates 95, 278, 295, 678, and the Hutch, Interstate 95 turns northeast along the Bruckner Expressway toward Co-Op City and the New England Thruway portion of the New York Thruway system.
The boulevard generally serves the cross streets that both Interstates 95 and 278 intersect with slip ramps to and from the freeway itself.
That is the case in this photograph along Bruckner Boulevard westbound as adjacent Interstate 95 (Bruckner Expressway) southbound prepares to enter the Bruckner Interchange with Interstates 278, 295, and 678.

Interstate 895 (abbreviated I-895) is a connector between I-95 (the Cross-Bronx Expressway) and I-278 (the Bruckner Expressway) in the Bronx.
Interstate 195 (abbreviated I-195) is a connector route from a junction with Interstate 95 and Interstate 64 to a junction with the Powhite Parkway (Virginia State Highway 76) and the Downtown Expressway (Virginia State Highway 195) in Richmond, Virginia.
Interstates 95 and 276 Interstate 295 in New Jersey and Delaware is a bypass route from a junction with Interstate 95 south of Wilmington, Delaware to a junction with I-95 north of Trenton, New Jersey.

Interstate 695 was once a spur of Interstate 295 (similar to the Spur of Interstate 270 in Maryland).
Interstate 695 is known by the New York State Department of Transportation as a distinct (albeit short) Interstate highway, while the Federal Highway Administration refers to Interstate 695 as a spur of Interstate 295 (it is not on the November 2002 Route Log and Finder List).
The bridges in the background are part of the Bruckner Interchange, the transition of the Cross-Bronx Expressway from Interstate 295 north to Interstate 95 south and the transfer of the Bruckner Expressway from Interstate 278 east to Interstate 95 north.

This situation is scheduled to be fixed sometime in the 2010s when a new interchange is to be built, updated signage posted, and I-95 re-routed north of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the Pennsylvania Turnpike Extension of the New Jersey Turnpike.
The Baltimore-Washington Parkway is not an interstate, but if it were, it would have been I-295; the section not controlled by the National Park Service is designated MD 295, while the portion of the Anacostia Freeway in Washington not designated I-295 is DC 295 – the District's only "state highway".

Interstate 895, like the other Interstate x95 spur routes in New York City, is another freeway that was planned for bigger and better things.
Interstate 895, the Sheridan Expressway, defaults onto Interstate 278 westbound at the southern terminus.
New reflective signage reflects that Interstate 895 north is now Exit 49 (not 46) and that Interstate 278 features the preferred Interstate 95 control point of New Haven.

 Interstate 895
The original 1964 plan was for the viaduct to be I-895 and the bypass to be I-95, but as the bypass was delayed for so long, it was decided for continuity sake to give I-95 to the through route and I-495 to the bypass route, when completed.
I-895, I understand, was a proposed number for the Betsy Ross Bridge and its (unbuilt) approaches between the western I-95 and the eastern I- 95 (NJ Turnpike).
New York (and Robert Moses) had planned to extend the Sheridan (as I-278) northeast another 6 miles to I-95 at exit 10, to help New England-bound traffic.

The new I-895 was to not only provide a new crossing of the Delaware River, but also serve as part of a northern bypass of the Philadelphia-Camden metropolitan area.
East of I-295, I-895 was to continue as the NJ 72 Freeway, providing access to the New Jersey Turnpike (near the current EXIT 5) and interior Burlington County.

 3-digit Interstates from I-78
On Aug. 22, 1958, Interstate 178 was New York's submitted proposal for a freeway from today's I-278, over the Manhattan Bridge, to the proposed Lower Manhattan Expressway (to be part of I-78).
In 1972, possibly as a result of the northern extension being cancelled, the Sheridan Expressway was renumbered I-895 and the I-278 designation was moved to its present location.
On Aug. 22, 1958, the New York Department of Public Works submitted a multi-route proposal including an Interstate 178 expressway, leading from today's I-278, over the Manhattan Bridge, and connecting to the proposed Lower Manhattan Expressway (to be part of I-78).

It is also dualized with I-83 for a short section on its north end, I-83 goes by two names: It is the Jones Falls Expressway inside the Beltway, and the Harrisburg Expressway outside it (due to the fact that I-83 goes into Pennsylvania's capital city).
This Interstate Highway article needs to be cleaned up to conform to both a higher standard of article quality and accepted design standards outlined in the WikiProject U.S. Interstate Highways.

A new survey by JiWire has placed San Francisco and New York as two of the top 10 global cities with hotspots.
Interesting story in the New York Times by Glenn Fleishmann about community wireless networking groups who get together to place antennas anywhere possible to create a wireless cloud.
Supporters of the 802.11n WiFi standard which, according to them, will "breathe new life" into the wireless networking technology, got some good news this week when the Enhanced Wireless Consortium passed a joint proposal by a 40-0 vote.
