Experimental [Page 3] RFC 2974 Session Announcement Protocol October 2000 3.1 Announcement Interval The time period between repetitions of an announcement is chosen such that the total bandwidth used by all announcements on a single SAP group remains below a preconfigured limit.
The base interval between announcements is derived from the number of announcements being made in that group, the size of the announcement and the configured bandwidth limit.
The announcer initializes the variable tp to be the last time a particular announcement was transmitted (or the current time if this is the first time this announcement is to be made).

Time, as an observable and measurable phenomenon, is expected to behave as a relative constant.
Time travel that occurs when the traveler's RT is gradually affected in relation to GT will be referred to as divergent time travel, because the traveler's relative time (RT) diverges or deviates from general time (GT).
The time traveler collected a leaf which could have been used by the local bio-system, such as food for a silk worm, or as a part of a nest, in both cases cause the animals to change the food they sought or objects for use in the nest.

Time zones around the world became somewhat standardized during the 1900's, but continue to be prone to arbitrary changes, particularly with respect to daylight-savings rules.
Time zones in the real world have little meaning unless associated with a date as well as a time, since the offset may vary through the year with daylight-saving time boundaries.
The default time zone is specified as a constant numeric offset from UTC.

The Laureate time interval meter displays pulse width or time delay between pulses for single pulses or the average for multiple pulses.
Multiple integral time intervals are averaged over a gate time which is selectable from 10 ms to 199.99 s and also controls the display update time.
Time can also be measured between a start pulse on Channel A (positive or negative edge) and a stop pulse on Channel B (positive or negative edge).

Time intervals are assigned to a specific, mathematical, perfectly repetitive numeric value.
The physical timing can be altered by conditions, but this will only change the timing of your device and that is quite different than a conclusion that it is time that has been changed.
Time should not be confused with the measurement of time.

Toward a Unified Theory of Animal Event Timing
Absolute time may be an artificial consequence of man-made clocks, but animals do behave on temporally defined schedules and many of them are observed to answer questions in the wild that require a specific estimate of time.
The inference from the break-and-run response is that the animal is indifferent to the temporal interval.
Time horizons undoubtedly affect the behaviors of animals that are able to anticipate the ends of foraging bouts.

Interval is the standard implementation of an immutable time interval.
When two intervals are compared the result is one of three states: (a) they abut, (b) there is a gap between them, (c) they overlap.
The chronology of the returned interval is the same as that of this interval (the chronology of the interval parameter is not used).

Intervals are implemented as half-open, which is to say that the start instant is inclusive but the end instant is exclusive.
The interval is also restricted to just one chronology and time zone.

This technique employs the Hilbert transformation of the sinus interbeat interval time series to derive the instantaneous amplitudes and frequencies of the series and calculates their averages and standard deviations over a moving 5-minute window.
By using this technique to transform the RR interval time series into its instantaneous amplitude and frequency components and quantifying the mean values of these components and their stability over time, it is possible to differentiate the periods of cyclic heart rate behavior accompanying prolonged apnea from periods of normal respiration.
By using the Hilbert transformation of the RR interval time series, we have shown that it is possible to detect prolonged episodes of high-density OSA from single-lead electrocardiograms with a high degree of accuracy, discriminating both subjects with OSA and determining the onset and offset of prolonged high-density OSA.

 Master Oracle's time interval datatypes
The DATE datatype records an individual moment in time; but to express a quantity of time (i.e., an interval), database designers had to convert the interval to raw seconds and use a NUMBER column to store it.
In Oracle 9i, the time interval datatypes INTERVAL YEAR TO MONTH and INTERVAL DAY TO SECOND were added to comply with the SQL 99 standard, along with several other datatypes to deal more precisely with points in time.
Interval literals are expressed by the word INTERVAL, followed by an expression in single quotes, and words that interpret the expression.

The time intervals are defined in a separate FITS table extension which contains 2 columns giving the start and stop time of each good interval.
The filtering operation accepts only those rows of the input table which have an associated time which falls within one of the time intervals defined in the GTI extension.
A high level function, gtifilter(a,b,c,d), is available which evaluates each row of the input table and returns TRUE or FALSE depending whether the row is inside or outside the good time interval.

This gives a very simple, elegant formulation in which points are totally ordered, intervals are uniquely defined by their endpoints (which are also the points they fit between) and two intervals meet just when the endpoint of the first is the startpoint of the second.
Actually, in the case where both intervals and points are treated as primitive on the same footing, it is straightforward to extend Allen's 13 exclusive temporal relations between intervals to govern both intervals and points, while without losing the property of exclusivity.
On the one hand, treating time intervals as primitive avoids the question of whether intervals are open or closed; on the other hand, allowing time points (as primitive) provides means for expressing instantaneous phenomena such as "the ball is motionless at a point".

What is vertical interval time code? - a definition from Whatis.com - see also: VITC
Vertical interval time code (abbreviated VITC and sometimes pronounced VIHT-see) is a timing signal that is part of a video recording.
VITC is one of two timing schemes adopted by the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) in the 1960s.
The time code can be used to start a recording at a certain chronological time (such as 5:00:00 p.m.), or it can be used to keep a playback machine synchronized with a master time source.

With regards to time, an interval or period is the duration between two events or occurrences of similar events.
It is related to the mathematical concept of interval in that the interval contains all of the points of time between the two events.
