Intuition - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Intuition (gut feeling) - a spontaneous impulse to take an immediate, unplanned action, which in retrospect, proves to be the most beneficial action to take in order to positively influence an unknown future event or situation.
Intuition (MBTI) is one of the four axes of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, opposite "Sensing".
Intuition (game) - "The Game You Already Know" was a board game produced in Toronto Canada for a few years in the early 1990s by the company "Applied Intuition" and sold in the U.S. and Canada.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It has also been argued that the terminology of the MBTI is so vague and complicated that it allows any kind of behavior to fit any personality type, resulting in the Forer effect, where an individual gives a high rating to a positive description that supposedly applies specifically to him.
The MBTI has not been validated by double-blind tests, in which participants accept reports written for other participants, and are asked whether or not the report suits them, and thus may not qualify as a scientific assessment.
As well as questioning the scientific validity of the MBTI others have argued that, while the MBTI may be useful for self-understanding, it is commonly used for pigeonholing people or for self-pigeonholing which may be of limited use or even detrimental.

 Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
The MBTI was first developed by Isabel Briggs Myers (1897-1979) and her mother, Katharine Cook Briggs.
Jung’s intuition turns out to be correct here and should be a red flag to those who have created a typology out of his preference categories.
However, his typology seems to imply that science is just a point of view and that using intuition is just as valid a way of seeing and understanding the world and ourselves as is careful observation under controlled conditions.

SYMLOG and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
The MBTI personality instrument, which evolved from Jung's personality types, was developed among non-clinical populations to assess normal individual differences, unlike inventories of psychological adjustment (or maladjustment).
Because the basic assumption under-girding the MBTI is that the types it identifies are immutable in nature, the consultant's mission has more to do with enhanced articulation of individual differences and organizational responsibilities than with behavior change.
Although, the hypothetical mapping of the MBTI to the SYMLOG space shows a wide range of overlap, the individuals who made up the Sundstrom sample are constrained to a very small portion of the field.

A Third Principle Governing the Distribution of MBTI Type Across the Enneagram
It continues to be fashionable in Enneagram and MBTI circles, although not quite so fashionable as it may have been six months ago, to declare that no correlation exists between an individual's Enneagram type and his or her Meyers-Briggs (MBTI) type.
This theoretical bias in the MBTI is so strong, and has become so deeply embedded in how the system operates and is understood, that we would venture to guess that most MBTI practitioners never learned about the possibility of 'pure type' in the first place.
A person who had introverted thinking and introverted intuition as his first two functions (with the former as dominant at some points in his career, and the latter dominant at other times), Jung was one 'pure' or 'extreme' type who not only lived 'effectively', but also made an extremely significant contribution.

The MBTI (R) is a personality indicator that tests you on four different sets of preferences in order to arrive at a four-letter type which indicates which preference out of each four you have.
The MBTI was the creation of Isabel Myers, who devised with her mother, Katherine Briggs, a personality type system based on Carl Jung's psychological types.
He also distinguished between judging functions (thinking, feeling) and perceiving functions (sensing, intuition), and he held that the auxiliary was a perceiving function when the dominant was a judging function, and that it was a judging function otherwise.

 Fundamental Nature of the MBTI
Sensitivity to process means that only Intuition allows us to (i) understand something that we have never before encountered, and (ii) apply our acquired knowledge in an unfamiliar situation.
Intuition, on the other hand, is aware of motion and process.
Introverted Intuition is mainly interested in the abstract principles that underlie a given event, not in the event itself.

 Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
As instructed in the MBTI Manual, the Indicator is only a means by which the client is assisted in identifying their Best-fit type.
Introverted Intuition looks to what will be and what the deep significance of something is. This process often tunes in to aspects of universal human experience and archetypal symbols.
Another argument says that, while the MBTI is useful in self-understanding, it is commonly used to pigeonhole people or for self-pigeonholing.

 Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
The MBTI test and associated model has become so famous that today many people refer to personality typing as the "MBTI", but in a rigorous sense this is not true; the MBTI is only one test instrument among several for determining personality types, though it is by far the most widely used.
The MBTI is based on Jung's ideas about perception and judgment, and the attitudes in which these are used in different types of people.
The aim of the MBTI is to identify, from self-report of easily recognized reactions, the basic preferences of people in regard to perception and judgment, so that the effects of each preference, singly and in combination, can be established by research and put to practical use.
