As a relationship definer (that is, the definer of the class that contains relationships), you have a number of options for presenting the relationship to that class's users.
Each use of a member macro to define one side of a relationship must be paired with another member macro to define the other side of the relationship, and each member macro must have a corresponding body macro to provide the implementations for the relationship's accessor functions.
Following is an example in which a class node is defined that has a one-to-many relationship, children, and a many-to-one inverse, parent (as in a node in a tree structure).

 Inverse Square Law
That is, the factor by which the electrostatic force is changed is the inverse of the square of the factor by which the separation distance is changed.
The inverse square relationship between force and distance is expressed in the Coulomb's law equation for electrostatic force.
This illustrates that force is inversely proportional to the square of the distance.

Inverse relationship between current moderate alcohol consumption and helicobacter pylori infection
A large study from Germany shows that moderate drinkers have lower rates of previous or current infection with Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) in the stomach that is associated with the risk of peptic ulcer and stomach cancer.
Several studies have demonstrated an inverse relationship between current moderate alcohol consumption and H. pylori infection, suggesting that alcohol consumption may facilitate elimination of this chronic infection.
They found an inverse linear (dose-response) relationship between lifetime alcohol consumption and H. pylori seroprevalence, with the strongest risk reduction among subjects who had consumed more than 500,000 g of alcohol during life (adjusted odds ratio, 0.65; 95% confidence interval, 0.42-1.00).

Inverse relationship - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A negative, or inverse relationship is a mathematical relationship in which one variable decreases as another rises.
For example, there is an inverse relationship between education and unemployment.
That is to say that as public education increases, the rate of unemployment decreases.

Of the 78 analyses, 27 (35%) found a statistically significant inverse relationship between the legal drinking age and alcohol consumption; that is, as the legal age was lowered, drinking increased, and as the legal age was raised, drinking decreased.
Of the 102 analyses, 52 (51%) found a statistically significant inverse relationship between the legal drinking age and crashes; that is, as the legal age was lowered, the number of crashes increased, and as the legal age was raised, the number of crashes decreased.
Of the 61 analyses, 10 (16%) found a statistically significant inverse relationship between the legal drinking age and other outcomes; that is, as the legal age was lowered, the number of problems increased, and as the legal age was raised, the number of problems decreased.

This means that a one-to-many relationship member must also have a one-to-many relationship body, as well as a many-to-one inverse member, which itself must have a many-to-one relationship body.

Chapter 3 : Entity Relationship Modelling
To describe a relationship type adequately, you need to say what the name of the relationship type and its inverse are and their meaning, if not clear from their names and you also need to declare the entity type or types involved and the degree of the relationship type that links the entities.
The purpose of discussing the degree of relationship types is to define the relevant terms, to give examples, and to show the impact that the degree of a relationship type has on the form of the final implemented relational database.
Wherever a many-many relationship type exists it is advantageous to consider whether it should be split into a number of one-many relationship types (normally two) and a number (normally one) of new entity types.

 The Object Database Generator
Generation of the Oracle schema is preceded by a choice of bi-directional or uni-directional relationship for all inverse relationships from the ODL schema.
The inverse specification should match the specification in the inverse class, i.e., the inverse relationship referenced in class Student (students) should be defined in the class Department since the inverse specification indicates it to be belonging to the class Department.
For every relationship in the ODL schema, users are given the flexibility of specifying the relationship as unidirectional or bidirectional and also for implementing the relationship as a VARRAY or a NESTED TABLE.

SparkNotes: Trigonometric Equations: Inverse Trigonometric Relations
The inverse trigonometric relations for sine, cosine, tangent, cosecant, secant, and cotangent are, respetively: arcsine, arccosine, arctangent, arccosecant, arcsecant, and arccotangent.
The graphs of the inverse relations differs from the graphs of the functions only in that the roles of x and y are interchanged.
The domains of the inverse relations are the ranges of their corresponding original functions.

Hibernates bizarre interpretation of inverse ;), 25/04/06, Colin's blog
Essentially "inverse" indicates which end of a relationship should be ignored, so when persisting a parent who has a collection of children, should you ask the parent for its list of children, or ask the children who the parents are?
The invertedness (?) of the relationship does have quite an impact on performance and schema design; if the one–to–many is not inverse (default) then everytime you create a child, hibernate will execute 2 statements, one to create the child, one to update the child with the foreign key of the parent.
Think inverse as the "ignore" inverse = true means to ignore the relationship of this side inverse = false means not to ignore the relationship of this side In parent-child relationship, parent is one side and children are many side.

The inverse relationship will still work normally for those allowed classes that do have slot B attached.
Note that if you replace an inverse slot relationship after instances have been created, existing values that reflect the original (replaced) inverse slot relationship are retained.
The original inverse slot is now unlinked from the slot where you made the change and no longer has an inverse slot.

A similar relationship was demonstrated when patients were stratified according to duration of CPR (Table).
Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between the duration of CPR prior to return of spontaneous circulation and the likelihood of surviving both the ICU stay and the hospital discharge.
Clinical Implications: Additional work is required to identify factors that might explain the relationship between increased length of CPR and worsened survival, and more specifically to establish whether these factors may be related to the CPR effort itself.

Inverse relationship between ER- and SRC-1 predicts outcome in endocrine-resistant breast cancer
We have previously described a positive relationship between SRC-1 expression and resistance to endocrine therapy (Fleming et al, 2004a) and have observed a significant association between both SRC-1 and AIB1 and the proto-oncogene HER2 (Fleming et al, 2004b).
No relationship between the expression of the ER isoforms was observed in relation to patient age, tumour size, histological grade and axillary node status (Table 1).
The relationship between SRC-1 response to the steroid environment and HER2 status is an interesting one, as p160 proteins are known to be phosphorylated via the MAP kinase pathway (Font de Mora and Brown, 2000; Rowan et al, 2000).

Direct and Inverse Relationships   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-01)
Since many physical relationships in electrostatics, electrodynamics, thermodynamics, etc. are expressed by mathematical equations, being able to see qualitatively the relationships between variables is often crucial to an understanding of many technologies.
One way to picture this relationship that doesn't involve any math is to think about a seesaw or teeter-totter that is in balance with one child on each end.
By either plugging in a few values or recognizing the form of the equation, you can easily determine whether a relationship is direct or inverse.

 Inverse production regimes:
Loadings on the leading principal component for both the catch-only and catch-climate analyses were very similar, being almost uniformly of one sign for the northern stocks and almost uniformly of the opposite sign for the southern stocks.
Inclusion of the climate indices had little impact on the salmon loadings and the same inverse relationship between the north and south stocks still emerged from the analysis.
A second analysis that incorporated three Pacific climate indices confirmed the inverse relationship and suggested that decadal-scale production regimes in Pacific salmon are driven by the Pacific Decadal Oscillation, a North Pacific climate oscillation that alternates between positive and negative phases every 20-30 years.
