This compromise mirrors that of the original Invincible: in a battlecruiser, which is designed either to destroy lighter units or flank heavier units, armor is secondary as it is never expected to enter a slugging match.
As during battle the Invincible would be expected to perform at its utmost, resulting in its crew being subjected to up to six Gs of force, seats had to be reclined in the same way as high-performance fighters so that crews could withstand the G forces while still fighting the ship at maximum efficiency.
In this service, the Invincible scoured its area of operations into one of the most pirate-free areas in the Inner Sphere, thanks to the pirates' knowledge that if the Invincible were to be in range of their craft, they were guaranteed to be run down and destroyed by the battlecruiser.
