Invisible Records' head-honcho made a name for himself as a (pop-)industrial force to be reckoned with as the mastermind, producer and percussionist of the early-'90s concept collective Pigface.
Essentially, the record is an astonishing exercise in the notion of decline.
When a record is so consistently awful, it's hard not to attempt to find some sort of kitsch value.

The recording itself is very lo-fi, and combined with their "less is more" rock essence it seems fitting to classify them as a pure band that takes their craft to heart.
THE INVISIBLE EYES were Greg Shaw's last signing to the label and boy, do they live up to that distinction; I've a feeling that he would have been real proud.
Bomp Records' Greg Shaw, who recently passed away, was known as one of the founders of modern garage rock.

 About Invisible Music
The label's mission is not only to promote the recordings of northern New England Jazz artists, but to do it in such a way that will foster their total artistic and economic freedom.
First of all, artists on the Invisible Music label retain full control over the myriad of artistic decisions associated with their projects.
Secondly, Invisible Music's artists receive royalties on sales that are well in excess of the industry standard.

And, unlike other record labels that carry such a varied array of artists with no links between them, if you like one thing on K, you're likely to enjoy something else on K. The most probable reason for that is that many of their musicians appear on other musicians' albums.
The phenomena which we refer to as the Invisible Shield: a bunch of folks who follow their own artistic vision but who feed off the artistic energy of their compatriots.
There so much marvelous music on Invisible Shield--especially for the price--that I can easily forgive the fact that it is, at its core, simply a cheap marketing ploy.

His work with Invisible, has been equally impressive: In excess of 100 releases in ten years, from bands like the infamous Sheep on Drugs, Psychic TV, Chemlab, h3llb3nt, Chris Connelly, The Damage Manual (another Atkins-anchored band), Meg Lee Chin and the Evil Mothers.
Through it all, Invisible - and Atkins - has been a beacon of strength and diversity - in fact, strength through diversity, to paraphrase the label's motto - establishing a worldwide distribution network that gives independent bands global exposure and sales power.

The amicable split with the well-known industrial label of the 1990s -- known for acts such as Pigface, Sheep on Drugs and Meg Lee Chin -- was a result of contractual disagreements between the band and the label.
Invisible Records released SMP's "Terminal" album and its remix companion, "Hacked," in 2001 and 2002, respectively.
SMP is now seeking another label to release the upcoming full-length album, "Crimes of the Future." Several prospective labels are currently reviewing the latest demo material.

I have Invisible records, it's my baby, it will always be my baby.
But, because of the 200 records we've put out, we have a lot of experience, a certain amount of leverage, and we've made a hundred mistakes that another band … band X doesn't need to make those mistakes because we've already made them.
Talk about how many owners of record labels would love to set up a situation where they go across the country and get to watch really great local bands who are actually doing something and open up and meet them and have them be part of the whole thing like we do.

This is one of my favorite Scorn releases simply because it is so stripped down and it retains all of the depth of emotion and character of previous releases.
This was Scorn's first album with Invisible Records.
There's certainly not the difference between say, "ZandER" and "Logghi" as between "Vae Solis" and even "Evanescence", but HARRIS seems to be refining his style, making subtle alterations, small but vital adjustments in the fabric of his work, so as to create the effect of something even more powerful than before.
