The Inyo Craters are a 12-km-long chain of silicic lava domes, lava flows, and explosion craters along the eastern margin of Sierra Nevada south of Mono Craters near the town of Mammoth.
Inyo Craters overtop the NW rim of the Pleistocene Long Valley caldera and extend onto the caldera floor, but are chemically and magmatically part of a different volcanic system.
The Inyo Crater Lakes are small phreatic craters that formed during this eruption on the south flank of the Pleistocene Deer Mountain rhyolite dome of the Long Valley caldera.

The Inyo Mountains are a short mountain range east of the Sierra Nevada mountains in eastern California in the United States.
The range separates the Owens Valley to the west with Saline Valley to the east, extending for approximately 70 mi (130 km) SSE from the southern end of the White Mountains, from which they are separated by Westgard Pass, to east of Owens Lake.
Approximately 205,020 acres (810 km²) of the range were designated as the Inyo Mountain Wilderness managed by the Bureau of Land Management.

The county planning commission, in consideration of the relationship of the term of the permit to the potential for the water transfer to unreasonably affect the overall economy or environment of Inyo County, shall, in accordance with Section 18.81.130 of this Code, determine the term of the permit.

The wood burner cost $9,065 and when filled to capacity with approximately 2,000 gallons of water and three cords of wood, weighed over 58 tons, INYO, the name applied, is Indian meaning "dwelling place of a great spirit." INYO is also affixed to a lengthy mountain range and a large county in eastern California.
In 1910, the INYO was next to the last of the VandT iron horses to be converted to burn oil.
From 1926 on, the engine was considered to be retired, although she did replace the RENO occasionally.

Inyo Development Company was formed to evaporate, process, and ship the natural soda found in the brines at Owens Lake, Inyo County, California.
Soda works were located at Keeler, on the east side of the lake, where the company owned approximately three thousand acres of clay lands, and including town lots, buildings, soda vats, pipelines, furnaces, and other machinery.
