In Maehlheim it's advisable to look for accommodation in the old part of the town (Oberdorf), if you don't mind a slight ascent.
Inzigkofen is very nicely located, but doesn't offer too much as far as accommodation is concerned.

It was an enjoyable morning’s ride with lots of nice views of the river, the gorges and the forests with a few ruined castles thrown in for good measure.
There was a very long and steep climb (30 per cent gradient at the steepest part) which forced everyone, other than Martin, to walk up to the monastery at Inzigkofen.
We stopped for a short break at the top of the climb, before a long, fast run down into Sigmaringen where we stopped for morning tea.
