Ioan Silviu Suciu (born November 24, 1977 in Sibiu) is a gymnast from Romania, who competes on the pommel horse and floor exercise.
One of his closest rivals is countryman Marius Urzică, who was beaten by Suciu in Ljubljana, 2004, when the latter won the title while Urzică took 8th place.
Suciu has been one of the key team members of the Romanian gymnastics team for several years.

Australian male gymnast Prasanth Sellathurai has finished seventh in the pommel horse final after scoring 9.037 at the World Gymnastics Championships, this afternoon.
In the medals, China's Xiao Qin claimed the Gold, Romanian Ioan Silviu Suciu the silver and Japan's Takehiro Kashima the bronze.
Sellathurai, who won the Gold medal on pommel during the challenger series against Great Britain, was a bit disappointed with his performance but was happy to make a final at his first World Championships.

The Romanian as usual found little challenge from the rest of the field as he won a score of 9.787 from the judges and finished ahead of team-mate Ioan Silviu Suciu (9.712) and China's Huang Xu, who kept the great traditions of his country with a typically elegant and dynamic performance.
The biggest disappointment over this piece was the failure of Nikolai Krukov (Russia), one of the master performers on the apparatus, to get into the medals.
