Kasoulides said that he was happy to visit China on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cyprus and China.

Ioannis Kasoulides (born August 10 1948 in Nicosia) is a Cypriot politician, was one of the leading officials of the right-wing Democratic Rally party and served as Foreign minister in the Glafcos Clerides government from 1997 until 2003.
Kasoulides studied medicine at University of Lyon in France and specialised in geriatrics in London.
As Minister, Kasoulides led the diplomatic service during efforts for Cyprus' Accession to the Europeran Union and was mainly responsible for the political part of the negotiations.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ioannis Kasoulides, has warned that if Turkey is allowed to hinder Cyprus' accession to the European Union, then Ankara would use similar methods to achieve its own membership.

The cornerstone of future peace and security in Cyprus was the implementation of Security Council resolutions, the Foreign Minister of Cyprus told correspondents at a Headquarters press conference this morning.
