Iolani School was moved to Nuuanu, transferred back to downtown Honolulu and then moved to Nuuanu a second time.
Iolani School is a member of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu, an athletic conference composed of Honolulu-area private schools.

Iolani School eight grader Keiko Akamine, the only gold medalist, pinned her opponent in the championship match to be crowned the 97.50 lbs.
Iolani now has a great core of experienced girl wrestlers, two defending state champions, and a handful of girls that have now experienced national competition and have made the dedication to get more matches, we should expect some great things from them next year.

Two teams from Iolani School are preparing to compete in a regional economics meet on the Mainland later this month.
Iolani high school teams won both the David Ricardo and Adam Smith divisions of the Hawaii Economics Challenge on April 10 -- defeating Maryknoll School in both finals -- and will compete April 24 at the Western Regional Competition in Los Angeles.
