		Ipswich risks losing its character as a town and is in danger of becoming a gigantic suburb of the city it once rivalled.

		A report of the meeting in the "Jubilee History of Ipswich" states that Mayor F Goleby presided "and all the leading businessmen of the city were represented as well as many connected with the coalmining, dairying and other industries in the surrounding districts".

		Ipswich City Councillor Paul Tully said it was only a matter of time before a serious accident on the motorway resulted in many deaths.
		A female child and the 64-year-old male bus driver were taken to the Ipswich Hospital with possible neck injuries.

	Thunder Down Under Storm Chasing: 27th to 29th November 2005
		A lot of heavy rain ensued on the Gateway and Logan motorways on the drive west, and by the time we were back on the Ipswich Motorway the storm was well and truly past the New England Highway linking Warwick and Toowoomba and moving into the Lockyer Valley to the south-west of Ipswich.
		It was smooth sailing until we finished the Ipswich Motorway and moved into the traffic light section leading to the city.
		We arrived at Anthony's house west of Ipswich and were quietly looking through our photos from the previous days, when a glance at the radar loop showed a strong shower developing about 10-15km to our SE.
