| | Iris sibirica (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-05) |
 | | Iris sibirica is an elegant member of the Iris family, forming clumps of narrow, grassy leaves to 18" long, from which arise long thin stems, 3'-4' tall, bearing small groups of flowers. |
 | | These differ from the more familiar bearded Iris in having no beards, but the stigma flaps are more conspicuous, making them look as if they have six horizontal petals instead of three. |
 | | The flowers themselves are also smaller, around 3" across, and the petals, usually some shade of blue or white, are veined with darker colours. |
