  Iron Maiden Bio
Iron Maiden are one of the most successful and influential bands in the heavy metal genre, having sold over 100 million albums worldwide.
Iron Maiden's mascot, Eddie, is a perennial fixture in the band's sci-fi and horror-influenced album cover art, as well as in live shows.
Released in 1992, the album was noticeably longer (due to this being Iron Maiden's first album recorded for CD rather than LP) and had several songs which became fan favourites, such as the title track and "Afraid to Shoot Strangers".

 Iron Maiden Album Reviews
You see, Maiden does that to me, and I do believe that their debut album is one of the best ever, though no “respectable” rock critic would ever admit as much.
Iron Maiden were trailblazers in that they were the first band to sell millions of records with virtually no radio play, and this was accomplished largely due to word of mouth sales generated by being the tour to see.
This is their most Gothic album, a convoluted concept piece whose main weaknesses are the silly lyrics and the cruise control repetitiveness of some of the choruses.

CLUAS | Album Reviews | Iron Maiden 'Rock in Rio'   (Site not responding. Last check: )
Iron Maiden has always been an underground attraction: although never having been taken very seriously in the U.S. they've had their show dutifully learned from by local metal-hard rock staples like Metallica and Marilyn Manson.
Maiden's later material is more aggressive - the 1982 replacement of alcohol-addicted Di'Anno with vocalist Bruce Dickinson saw the band produce the hard and heavy Number Of The Beast.
If you're a 'Maiden debutant, you'll be able to choose between the latest release and the classic 1980s live package, "Live After Death." Rock in Rio isn't an essential album but with its two disk loads of classic Iron Maiden live experience, it could rejuvenate lapsed appreciation of Iron Maiden, ever more a...Real Live machine.

  Iron Maiden Album Reviews
Alas, after such an amazing debut album, Iron Maiden’s quickly delivered sophomore set was bound to be slightly disappointing, and it is, but only by their lofty standards.
The album is actually heavier than Iron Maiden - then again, a newcomer might be surprised that, though the band most definitely rocks, relative to today’s metal bands Maiden aren’t that heavy, and could more aptly be called “hard rock” than “heavy metal” — but the songs are less memorable.

Bruce Dickinson - Music Downloads - Online
Bio: Perhaps second only to Rob Halford, Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson was the most acclaimed and instantly recognizable vocalist to emerge from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement of the early-'80s.
Maiden would soldier on with replacement vocalist Blaze Bayley (formerly of Wolfsbane), while Dickinson resumed his solo career, resulting in 1994's Balls to Picasso, 1995's Alive in Studio A, 1997's Accident of Birth, 1998's The Chemical Wedding, and 1999's Scream for Me Brazil.
Dickinson and Maiden patched up their differences by the late '90s, as he rejoined the group for a successful reunion tour in 1999, and a year later, for the album Brave New World and supporting tour.

Upcoming Iron Maiden album will not be mastered - Hydrogenaudio Forums
Iron Maiden albums of the 80's and early 90's were very "silent" (RG values around 0) and very dynamic indeed, as were other recordings of that era.
Most 80's metal recordings by bands such as Iron Maiden, Metallica and Slayer exhibit considerable dynamic range because the drums are given a lot of space to breathe.
Iron Maiden have announced that their new upcoming album titled "A Matter of Life and Death" will not be mastered in any way.
