Isaac Asimov's Caliban - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Isaac Asimov's Caliban (1993) is a science fiction novel by Roger MacBride Allen, set in Isaac Asimov's Robots/Empire/Foundation universe.
Caliban, the robot of the title, is an experimental gravitonic robot who was created with no laws at all.
Caliban escapes the City of Hades (the capital of Inferno), but is located by both Dr. Leving and Sheriff Kresh.

In CALIBAN, Allen writes of a new type of robot, one that is not bound by the iron-clad strictures of the sacred Three Laws.
The robot Caliban is accused of murder, and since it is publicized that he is a non-Three Law robot, he is pursued so that he may be disassembled.
Superficially, at least, Isaac Asimov's Caliban is like many of the Asimov robot novels: a human investigator working with a robot partner to solve a crime against a political background.

Recent Asimov works include In The Beginning (1981), in which the biblical book of Genesis is explored from both the fundamentalist and the evolutionist point of view; and The Measure of the Universe and Counting the Eons (both 1983).
For the first time Asimov chronicles the life of Hari Seldon, the man who laid the framework for the universe that came to be known as the Foundation.
Just when you thought Asimov had done enough in Foundation by creating a believable world of the future where the movements of large amounts of people could be predicted statistically, he throws in The Mule.
