And sure, Isaac's trying to push his product, but it's not like the magazines are innocently writing exactly what happens without any intention of spicing things up.
Also, I disagree that if someone's "famous" they should have to "keep their thoughts to [themselves]." Just because Isaac's got some sort of "celebrity" doesn't make him any less deserving of an opinion or a means of expressing it.

I don't either, assuming that you agree and that my endless hours of pretend conversations with Isaac Brock make meaningful speculation on various aspects of celebrity music tastes.

Curiously, indie music has been decidedly conventional on the subject of ballads vs. rock songs; it’s as much of a trope for artists to save their best words for the slow songs here as it is anywhere.
On one level, it makes good sense; a musician would want to be well represented lyrically on the songs that make him or her most audible.
Isaac Brock is probably one of the band’s only contemporaries in this endeavor, yet you have to admit that “Float On” was far from the most brilliant lyrical work he’s produced.

Brock’s name for the project, “Ugly Casanova”, also attributed to Graham, is representative of the music contained within: beautiful, but with an aftertaste of confusion and self-loathing.
Whatever Brock’s demons might be, he’s often capable of spinning them into gold, or at the very least a weird bit of tin that looks either like an oak tree or General de Gaulle and makes the listener wonder why he made it in the first place.
