Isenfluh is a hamlet in Switzerland, north of the road from Wilderswil to Lauterbrunnen.
In 1973, Isenfluh, together with Wengen, Muerren, Gimmelwald, Stechelberg and Lauterbrunnen, became part of the municipality of Lauterbrunnen.
Since the village school was closed for financial reasons by the government of the Canton of Bern, the children of Isenfluh attend school in Lauterbrunnen.

Tobogganing, as seen here on the fantastic forest run from Sulwald to Isenfluh, has a long tradition in the area.
The familiar wooden toboggans are still often used as a means of transport on snow covered village streets and paths and the well known "Grindelwald" model is of course made in the village.
Toboggans and bobs can be hired at local sports shops and night-time tobogganing is organized by the local Ski School.

The hike from Suwald to Isenfluh was downhill, but incredibly steep and extremely hard on the old legs.
There’s a gondola that operates hourly from Suwald to Isenfluh, (the steepest part of the hike) but it wasn’t operating the day we were there, so we had no choice but to hike all the way to Isenfluh.
The hike down took one hour and was downright treacherous due to the pouring rain, an abundance of wet, mossy rocks and downed limbs from the previous night’s storm.

L'idée a germé au printemps 2003 : simplement utiliser ce site pour donner des informations quotidiennes lors des camps d'été à Isenfluh, dans l'Oberland bernois (Suisse).
Afin de donner des infos sur ce qui se passe "là-haut", à celles et ceux qui prient pour les camps, qui pensent à nous, et accessoirement permettre aux parents de découvrir à quelle sauce leurs enfants sont mangés !

At the cable car station, Hans engaged in tough negotiations for a group discount with the operating lady, once successfully done we all squeezed into the tiny cabin and were taken up to Sulwald, the starting point of the tour.
We still hadn't had enough and decided therefore to ski down to the village of Isenfluh as well, along the toboggan track, which was quite narrow but a lot of fun.
And, as most toboggan tracks, this one ended right in front of a restaurant, where we had a few beers and a chat before driving back to Basel.

We had to repack after the Isenfluh jump and we decided to just pack in the middle of the town on the side walk next to the tourist center.
