		Isham, pronounced "eye- sham," moved to Chicago in 1915 and continued composing, often working in the World War I period with lyricist Olaf ("Ole") Olsen, a member of Jones's early Chicago band (later, in 1926, Ole Olsen and His Orchestra recorded three titles for Pathé Actuelle).
		The Isham Jones Orchestra was a Chicago institution from 1920 to 1925.

		Like many of the early dance orchestras, the Jones band was also a training ground for some of the best musicians of the big band era: Woody Herman took over the Jones organization in 1936, after Jones went into temporary retirement, and it was here that the Herman's Thundering Herd found its start.

		More than half of the songs suffer from what appears to be a botched application of noise reduction technology, with sudden shifts in ambient noise between vocal and non-vocal sections, and distracting whistles and high-frequency noise which most likely have arisen from noise reduction software application gone awry.
		Such a shame, as the songs, all compositions of dance band-leader extraordinaire Isham Jones, are great, and the original recordings themselves quite good (with emphasis on post-1930 recordings).
