Shepherd was discouraged by both the record and the band dynamics that created it, and decided to leave to join the Hoodoo Gurus, where he would remain for upwards of 15 years.
I was playing in a band that grew out of the ashes of Radio Birdman, a band called the Hitmen that had half the members of Radio Birdman in them.
So that band was already really well and truly in existence, and I just learned their repertoire rapidly and got on board.

Resin Dogs are a loose collective, a cut and paste sample band who use live drums, live bass and elements of hip hop via turntables and samplers to create all forms of ritual dance sounds.
The band is completed by Rock B who had played with many other Brisbane groove bands including Elevation.
The reaction to their sounds in London reassured the Brisbane band that they were doing something very original.

Indie-metal behemoths ISIS will be touring Australia for the first time in early Febrary.
ISIS will touring in support of their third full-length album, "Panopticon", released in October through Ipecac Records.
The follow-up to 2002's "Oceanic", "Panopticon" was produced by Matt Bayles (MASTODON, PEARL JAM) and features a guest appearance on the track "Altered Course" by TOOL bassist Justin Chancellor.

I think that in a city as young as Brisbane, it is important for us to look to other older and larger cities, so that we can plan our urban spaces more effectively.
I consider the Brisbane urban landscape to be brutally ugly, and I hope that these reflections might inspire more creative thinking in architecture in the future.

In recent years he was the central figure at the Wednesday night folk club at the Kookaburra Café in Paddington - and the Wayfarers were still going strong - though the personnel of the group had changed countless times in the intervening years.

The band funds promotions/videos etc. for itself only using the 'label' for distribution of the album/cd.
Touring revenue accounts for the majority of the bands income - very little is made from album sales.
Not sure if I'll be able to catch them this time, since the finances are a little tight for a trip down to Brisbane at the moment.

 The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
In June 2003, acclaimed Brisbane band CHARLES FOSTER KANE (and a cavalcade of Brisbane’s most celebrated vocalists) performed Ziggy Stardust live in its entirety.
Staged at The Zoo, the event was a runaway success with hundreds missing out on tickets and hanging around outside to listen to the performance.

In Brisbane this year, Saturday, March 7th was the major day for celebration where approx 1300 women attended the Brisbane IWD Rally, March and Festival.
The IWD collective urged in their demands that people recognise that the Howard government's push to extinguish native title is a racist and divisive strategy.
The rally was followed by a march of whistles, drums and loud voices through the streets of Brisbane celebrating Women's achievements and remembering the need to continue fighting the struggle.

The Brisbane Pride Festival and Posterbill present 'The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars'.
This whole event is the brainchild of Brisbane musician, event producer, musical director (and Bowie freak) James Lees, who has performed with Chalk, ISIS, Saturn South and Silver Circus as well as co-producing the regular performance event dreamGAS.
The band played songs including: 'The Man Who Called Himself Jesus' and David appeared with them miming to one of their songs 'Poor Jimmy Wilson', accompanied by Tony Visconti.
