		Islamabad (Urdu: اسلام آباد, abode of Islam), is the capital city of Pakistan, and is located in the Potohar Plateau in the northwest of the country.
		It is located within the Islamabad Capital Territory, though the area has historically been a part of the crossroads of the Punjab region and the North-West Frontier Province (the Margalla pass being a historic gateway to the North-West Frontier Province, and the Potwar Plateau historically a part of the Punjab).
		However, the views from the sculpted gardens of Islamabad's Shakar Parian Hills, the fascinating Heritage Museum, and the huge marble statue of Shah Faisal Mosque are the major highlights of the modern city.

		An informed source told Dawn that the LG system in the capital was to be different from other district governments established in the country as the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the district council would work together under the district Nazim.

		Saja aged 55 years of village Batengo Bijbeara, Islamabad was raped by the forces on 15-12-93 after the forces cordoned the village and dragged her into a room of her house.
		In Hilar Bahi Village of Islamabad District on 5-12-91, the forces cordoned off a number of villages and started indiscriminate firing due to which 20 persons were injured and out of 20 persons five were seriously injured and two persons killed.

		Police spokesman said another youth was shot dead by forces at Gosh-Aiynoo near Aishmuqam, 70 km from here in Islamabad district at around 1140 hours IST today.

		ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Monday presented a bill to amend the Press, Newspapers, News Agencies and Books Registration Ordinance 2002 to the National Assembly, authorizing a district magistrate to issue declarations for publications where district government was not in place.
		"In the Press, Newspapers, News Agencies and Books Registration Ordinance 2002, after the words 'district coordination officer,' wherever occurring, the words and commas "or, where the district government has not come into being, 'the district magistrate' shall be inserted," says the bill.
		Talking to reporters in his chamber, the information minister said the bill had been tabled because there was no authority in Islamabad to issue declaration to newspapers, magazines and other publications as there was no DCO in the capital where local government elections had not yet been held.
