		The Islamabad Stock Exchange was incorporated in 1989 with the main object of establishment of a trading and settlement infrastructure, information system, a fair and orderly marketplace.
		The purpose for establishment of the stock exchange in Islamabad was to cater the needs of less developed areas of the northern part of the Pakistan.
		Out of total 13 directors, 7 directors have been elected from amongst the Members of the Exchange, 5 directors having representation of general public have been nominated by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan whereas the Managing Director by the virtue of his position is the 13th member of the Board of the Exchange.
