The Isobel Campbell Gentle Waves Conundrum
Isobel frequently elicits in me deplorable "i want to shake you by the shoulders til you sing a little less like a pant-wetting six year-old" thoughts.
did isobel write "waiting for the moon to rise?"; that song was awesome.
Lanegan wrote "Revolver," Isobel wrote everything else except the "Ramblin Man" cover and "It's Hard To Kill A Bad Thing." You could compare the album to Nancy/Lee or Serge/Jane but Isobel has said she felt more like the Lee/Serge figure on this album, and wrote the songs with Lanegan in mind.

For those who felt that the departure of Joe Culver [+] on drums irreparably disturbed the group's chemistry, volume four might not convince them, but Ed Farnsworth sounds mighty fine, keeping things moving as the band goes, whether at barely there tempos or slightly speedier.
Isobel Sollenberger [+]'s drifting, calling voice again provides the slippery but compelling hook amidst the slow-moving head-nod apocalypses that the rest of the group conjures up, while her flute playing, as on the regular releases, makes for an often surprisingly beautiful contrast.
The overall feeling of volume four is a heavy-duty downward slide -- not too much of a change given the group's overall sound, but with Sollenberger practically drowned in a cavern of echo, songs like "New Drunks (Revisited)" and "Take What You Need" are suffused with beautiful melancholy.

 Ned Raggett, I kiss you!
That said, the collaboration with Lanegan is making me rethink (on Isobel, not on anything else).
If I could have my wicked way, I'd lube up that cute Raggett ass, strap on something imposing and have at it until he squealed with pain and pleasure, shaking his luscious locks thisly and thusly.
i have a severe isobel campbell aversion but the lp with lanegan is actually not bad.

I figured they'd be good but shit, this was stunning.
Loud and heavy in all the right places and singer/flautist Isobel Sollenberger beamed like a siren casting a trance over the whole room.
I can't imagine anyone in the room not being taken aback by their intense set.

The book opens with great promise on how XP is going to change our world and revolutionize programming projects for the web.
However, Wallace, Raggett, and Aufgang end up trying to bite off more than they could chew in a 150-page book.
First, the authors assume you already know a great deal about extreme programming, which I did not prior to picking up this book.

She more than delivered with 1995's Post; from the menacing, industrial-tinged opener "Army of Me," it's clear that this album is not simply Debut redux.
The songs — especially the epic, modern fairy tale "Isobel" — production, and arrangements all aim for, and accomplish, more.
Post also features Debut producer Nellee Hooper, 808 State's Graham Massey, Howie B., and Tricky, who help Björk incorporate a spectrum of electronic and orchestral styles into songs like "Hyperballad," which sounds like a love song penned by Aphex Twin.

I was looking for some information discussing the intersection of extreme programming (which our development team is adopting) and user experience, and I ran across this selection (in Google’s book search) from Extreme Programming for Web Projects (by Doug Wallace, Isobel Raggett, and Joel Aufgang).
We are big Mac fans and have a great deal of respect for the operating system (OS), but it is a fact of life that most Web team [sic] use Windows.
