According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, at the end of 1986 about 51,200 Jews resided in the the West Bank occupied territories (called Judea and Samaria by Jewish Israelis), and an additional 2,100 resided in the Gaza Strip (these figures represented 1.4 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively, of the 1986 Jewish population of Israel).
The Central Bureau of Statistics estimated the 1986 Arab population of the West Bank to be 836,000, and that of Gaza to be 545,000, for a total population of close to 1.4 million.

While telephone interviewing is widely used by the Central Bureau of Statistics for surveys and for data collection relating to establishments (recently with computer assistance), none of the Bureau’s household surveys are completely based on telephone interviewing.
The first academically based CATI facility in Israel was set up at the Hebrew University in 1994 to help researchers develop telephone surveys on substantive issues using modern methods and to carry out methodological research on the use of computer assisted telephone interviewing in Israel.

Jewish Population in Israel - Moriel Ministries
The Jewish population in Israel may well be the biggest one in the world - although there's no way of knowing for sure.
Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics recently reported that 5.4 million Jews live in Israel, while the number of U.S. Jews is apparently less - between 5.1 and 5.3 million.
However, Professor Sergio Della Pergola, head of the Center for Contemporary Judaism, told the Knesset Immigration Committee that there could be 5.3 million Jews in Israel, and 5.4 million in the U.S. In any event, Pergola said, within three years Israel will certainly have more Jews than the United States.

By investigating the patterns of changes in those regression coefficients, the curvature of the regression curve can be traced.
As an application, we investigate non-response patterns in the survey of household expenditures in Israel.
