As at 24 May, those forces appeared to have vacated almost all positions in Lebanon, and were in the process of withdrawing from positions along the Israel/ Lebanon border.
Notwithstanding their reservations about the withdrawal line, the Governments of Israel and Lebanon both confirmed that identifying this line was solely the responsibility of the United Nations and that they would respect the line as identified.
I recommend that the Security Council accede to this request, on the understanding that the Force will be enabled to deploy and function fully throughout its area of operation, and that the Lebanese authorities will strengthen their own presence in the area, as they have already decided, by deploying additional troops and internal security forces.

RUSI- Israel Defence Forces Organizational Changes in an Era of Budgetary Cutbacks   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-07)
This article will show that rather than being revolutionary, changes to the IDF security doctrine, have been reactive in the sense that most of the changes the IDF is currently deciding to implement have been forced upon it mostly due to large budgetary cuts.
Such budget cutbacks have been especially dramatic since the beginning of the Al-Aqsa Intifada (September 2000) and in spite of the rising costs that such a conflict has exacted on the overall defence budget.
Notwithstanding such criticisms, the article will in any case illustrate the strategic and operational changes that the IDF — principally its ground forces — is planning to undertake over the coming years.
