It's almost enough to make me break with my principles and call for the public guillotining of the Hamas leadership and the Israeli cabinet - preferably together and live on every TV channel in the world - after which their corpses should be interned in whatever manner their respective religions find most offensive.
I've already argued that there is no moral equivalence between Israel and the Palestinians, but that same argument does create an ontological equivalency between Israel and Hamas and I'm seeing a lot of moral equivalency in their current behaviour.
It makes the Israeli-Palestinian conflict into a battle between two "nations" - two of the same sort of thing - instead of what it really is: a conflict between the Israeli state and a bunch of people called Palestinians.
