  Isthmian League Division One South - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Isthmian League Division One South is a football division of the Isthmian League in England.
The Isthmian League First Division South (note the slightly different title) existed for two seasons from 2003-03 till 2003-04.
The division was formed from a merger of the Isthmian League First Division and the Isthmian League Second Division at the end of the 2001-02 season.

In 1891 the league was expanded to fourteen clubs, the umpire and referees were replaced with a referee and two linesmen, goal nets were first used and penalties were introduced.
Several league clubs in the years that followed were saved by the rule that, the Conference side could only be promoted if their facilities were up to scratch.
In 1992 the First Division Clubs resigned from the Football league en masse and on the 27th May 1992 the F.A. Premier League was formed as a limited company, which worked out of an office at the then Football Association’s headquarters, Lancaster Gate.

The latest round of non-league reorgnisation has seen the pyramid switch to a 1-2-3-5 structure with the Isthmian League gaining a second division at Step 4.
Canvey Island have been placed in the Ryman Premier Division following their resignation from the Conference whilst Carshalton Athletic have been relegated from Conference South (although this is subject to appeal).
The constitution of the other Step 1-4 Divisions is available to download from The FA website.
