She is the daughter of Jewish/Irish American model Barbara Bach and Italian businessman Augusto Gregorini, and stepdaughter of Ringo Starr.
Her paternal grandparents are Francis Xavier Shields, (a tennis star) of Irish decent, and Italian princess Donna Marina Torlonia di Civitella-Cesi, who was a sister of Don Alessandro Torlonia, 5th Prince di Civitella-Cesi, the husband of the Spanish Infanta Beatrix of Bourbon-Battenberg (aunt of King Juan Carlos I of Spain).
Frankie Valli, (born May 3, 1937 in the Italian First Ward of Newark, New Jersey as Francis Stephen Castelluccio) is best known as lead singer of The Four Seasons, one of the biggest music acts of the 1960s, which continued from then to the 1970s disco scene to the present day.

More than 10,000 Italian Americans living in the West Coast were forced to leave their homes and were prohibited from entering and fishing in coastal zones, while more than 50,000 were subject to curfews.
The Wartime Violation of Italian American Civil Liberties Act of 2000 directs the Attorney General to conduct a comprehensive review of the treatment of Italian Americans by the federal government, and to report to Congress no later than November 7, 2001.
"The story of the treatment of Italian Americans during World War II needs to be told, to remember those whose freedoms were violated and to prevent such injustice in the future," said William Yeomans, Acting Assistant Attorney General of the Civil Rights Division.

Italians started immigrating to the United States in large numbers at the end of the 19th century, arriving first at Ellis Island and then heading to Connecticut, where they found work as field hands, stone masons and factory workers.
