The population of Uganda (known as the Atekerin, Karimojong, Iteso, Langi, Kuman, and Kakwa) are descendants of the Niloti tribe who perhaps came from the northeast in the region of Kaffa in Ethiopia.
The Langi stem from the Lango family (similarly as the Iteso, Kumam, and Labwor); tradition claims that they are from the Tukei mountains as well as the Awil mountains, all abundant with rain.
The Iteso live in the east of the country in various districts (Pallisa and Toro), but the political instabilities of the 80’s forced the tribe to move towards the south.
