Ithaca is VERY good for both film/tv (they have a whole program on it) and liberal arts.
At Ithaca they probably are content with life in a smaller city, and more on campus activity, while at Cornell the students might rather be in a big city atmosphere.
Ithaca is one of the colleges I'm considering, but I'm concerned about the financial aid - it's listed in the CIS financial aid database (http://highered.cois.org/Download/FinancilAid/2003_04_FinancialAid_US_Only.xls) as having given financial aid to 183 international students in 2003/2004, the average award being about USD18K.

While in Ithaca I stayed with Ross West and Steve Mejia who are always great hosts.
The bad news of course being that it seems somewhere between my graduating class and theirs, the link with the Alumni was lost and the college started cracking down hard on social organizations.

In 1921, the conservatory became the Ithaca Conservatory and Affiliated Schools, with the addition of a school of physical education and the Martin Institute for Speech Correction.
A decade later, the name Ithaca College took hold and the institution began awarding a bachelor of science degree.The school, a bunch of scattered buildings in downtown Ithaca, moved to South Hill beginning in 1961, when enrollment was around 2,000, and has become the largest private residential college in New York state.
The college is divided into five schools, the largest being the School of Humanities and Sciences.
