		Ithaca Guns, USA LLC is a manufacturer of high-quality shotguns and rifles, founded in Ithaca, New York in 1880.
		In the Spring of 2005, the indebted Ithaca Gun Company closed its doors and its assets were sold at auction in November of 2005.
		Ithaca also produced the M1911 pistol and the M3 Grease Gun for the United States military during the Second World War.

		I once had a gun dealer tell me that Ithaca's were fine guns but he didn't handle them because he didn't like dealing with Ithaca Company.
		I have both the Browning BPS and Ithaca M37, both in 12 ga. I prefer the M37, lighter and seems to balance better for me. Both are good guns.
		My Ithaca M37 is the older 2/3 inch only chamber too, but I sent it back to Ithaca to have it fit with 26" vent rib barrel w/ screw-in choke tubes because I want choke tubes.

		The Ithaca model 37 shotgun is one of the oldest pump action shotguns still in production.
		It was introduced in the 1937, and was based on the design patented by John M. Browning in 1915 and improved by Harry Howland of Ithaca Gun Co in 1931.
		Originally Browning sold his design to the Remington Arms Co, but later Ithaca Gun Company bought this design from Remington and began to build its own shotguns.
