The objective of this Technical Area of the IUBA BAA is rapid and low-cost automatic population of geospatial databases, from a variety of imagery sources, to serve imagery exploitation and synthetic environment applications.

An Ancient Latin Name for Venus   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-01)
Venus, in its aspect as the Morning Star, was known to the early Romans as iubar; not until much later did Lucifer, “the bringer of light,” replace iubar as the designation of the planet Venus in its morning aspect.
Latin writers derived iubar from the word iuba, meaning “hair.” Varro wrote: eadem Stella vocatur iubar quod iubata “this star is called iubar bacause it is hairy.”
For the association of the lion with the Morning Star.

Biblica 82 (2001) Frederick E. BRENK -  Filippo CANALI DE ROSSI
The authors also tell us that this Drusilla ‘perhaps’ was the daughter of Kleopatra Selene and Iuba (Juba), King of Mauretania, and that she became the wife of Antonius Felix (citing Suetonius, Claudius 28 and Tacitus, Histories 5.9).
Moreover, the authors regard the name Drusilla as suspicious, since the other wife of Felix, who was Jewish and the sister of Agrippa, was also called Drusilla.
If Felix’ wife really were a descendant of Kleopatra and Marcus Antonius, and accordingly of Kleopatra Selene or someone of the same age, she would presumably be the great-granddaughter of Kleopatra VII and Marcus Antonius, and ‘perhaps’ the granddaughter of Kleopatra Selene and Iuba of Mauretania.

Además, Andrea Vettoretti dio una clase a los alumnos de Simone Iannarelli en el IUBA, donde “el nivel está muy alto.

Varro elsewhere compares the light of Venus to a lion's mane: "The morning-star is called iubar, because it has at the top a diffused light, just as a lion has on his head a iuba 'mane.'"
Pliny, Natural History 2:90 reads: "Up to now it has happened once that a comet in the form of a mane [iubae] has changed into one in the form of a spear." See also R. Onians, The Origins of European Thought (Cambridge, 1954), pp.
