Sketchpad was a revolutionary computer program written by IvanSutherland in 1963 in the course of his PhD thesis.
IvanSutherland demonstrated with it that computer graphics could be utilized for both artistic and technical purposes in addition to showing a novel method of human-computer interaction.
When Sutherland had finished with it, it had to be reconverted to run in batch mode again.
IvanSutherland is a pioneer in the field of computer graphics.
IvanEdwardSutherland was born in Hastings, Nebraska, on May 16, 1938.
Sutherland received his B.S. from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1959, his M.S. from the California Institute of Technology in 1960, and his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) in 1963.
Done on the instruction of Edward Morbius, the fatherly philologist survivor from the "Ballerophon" spaceship destroyed by previous Forbidden Planet Id-monster incarnations, the name Morbius seems to convey a meaning - morbidity - in addition to mere association with August Ferdinand Mobius (1790-1868).

During the 1960’s, IvanSutherland developed the program Sketchpad at MIT using their TX-2 computer.
Sutherland saw the potential for computer graphics (the term had been just entered discourse in 1960 coined by William Fetter) to aid engineers with drafting work.
As drafters and engineers were one of the first non-military professional groups to embrace computer graphics to assist them in their work there are well established computer graphics ontologies and standards in their field in addition to the various ontologies that already existed.

Now while I can’t find any specific reference point on the website for a Lethem completist, something that lists everything Lethem has written and which book(s) it can be found in, Lethem’s openness here (which appears inspired somewhat from Michael Chabon) is the right way for an author to run a website.

Tall, large-eared, long-faced and gaunt, this Canadian-born, London-trained actor probably wouldn't make it as a young leading man if he were starting out in contemporary Hollywood.
In the halcyon days of 1970s American filmmaking, however, the politically active Sutherland prospered as a distinctive character lead.
He acquired British repertory stage experience and acted in several 60s horror films before winning his first plaudits as irreverent surgeon Hawkeye Pierce in Robert Altman's breakthrough feature, "M*A*S*H" (1970)....
