Ivan Ljubicic, who paid an advance visit to Shanghai in September, will be making his second consecutive appearance at the Tennis Masters Cup.
The 27-year-old Ljubicic is in the midst of a career year, reaching the 60-win plateau for the first time by picking up his third ATP title of the season two weeks ago in Vienna.
Ljubicic opened 2006 by winning the Chennai Open title and followed with the inaugural PBZ Zagreb Indoors title in his home country of Croatia.

Ljubicic struck for 21 aces, and he still lost, primarily because Gonzalez laid down some wicked deliveries along the edges that were impossible to reach, and dashed back and forth across the court like a man possessed.
Ljubicic can look forward to moving into the No. 3 world spot in the rankings next week off of what he did at the Rexall Centre.

Ivan Ljubicic may not be very well known here in the U.S., but the 27-year-old Bosnian Croat tennis player has made quite a name for himself after leaving his war-torn homeland.
Ljubicic turned pro in 1998, and played in the final of the ATP Challenger in Zagreb, where he lost to Alberto Berasategui.
At the 2004 Olympics, Ljubicic teamed up with Mario Ancic to win the bronze medal in tennis doubles, winning against the Indians Bhupathi and Paes after having been defeated by the Chilean duo of González and Massú, the eventual gold medalists, in the semifinals.
