Ivo Francis Walter Bligh, 8th Earl of Darnley (13 March 1859-10 April 1927), known earlier in his life as The Honourable Ivo Bligh, was a cricketer who captained the English cricket team in the first ever Ashes series in Australia in 1882/3.
In 1900 he became the eighth Earl of Darnley on the death of his father.
Later in life, he inherited the Earldom of Darnley and was elected an Irish representative peer.

DARNLEY, THE 8TH EARL OF (IVO FRANCIS WALTER BLIGH), born in Bruton Street, London, on March 13, 1859, died peacefully in his sleep of heart failure at Puckle Hill, Cobham, Kent, on April 10, aged 68.
Lord Darnley was one of the most genial and kind-hearted of men.
Later on he played a fair amount of golf, but his great love was always cricket--the game with which his family had been associated for nearly 150 years.
