		Ivo Svetina je eden najplodovitejših slovenskih pesnikov in dramatikov.
		Svetina je član odbora Slovenskega društva za primerjalno književnost, bil pa je tudi dejaven član slovenskega PEN in tajnik slovenskega kongresa, to je Društva za povezovanje Slovencev po svetu.
		Svetina ni politično angažiran avtor (razen morda na samem začetku svoje ustvarjalne poti).

		Ivo Svetina (born in Ljubljana, 1948) graduated in comparative literature and literary theory from the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Arts, and worked as a free-lance writer until 1978.
		Among the many jobs he had, he worked for TV Slovenia (stage manager and editor of arts and entertainment), the Slovenian Youth Theatre (stage manager and artistic director), the Ministry of Culture, and since 1998 he has been the director of the Slovenian Theatre Museum.
		Svetina is the author of 19 books of poetry (the first was published in 1971) and a recipient of the Golden Bird Award (Botticelli, 1975) and the Prešeren Foundation Prize (Sung Manuscripts, 1987).

		The Veronika Award for the best poetry collection of the previous year has been bestowed annually since 1997 by Celje Urban Municipality.
		The Veronika Award for best collection of poems of 2005 went to Ivo Svetina.
		The poet received EUR 3,300 and a deed of the city of Celje for his collection "Lesbos" at an award ceremony in Celje.

	Poetry in the Slovene Language
		In evoking the confrontation between man and Nothingness, without any pre-established sense, Grafenauer has based his poetry on the thesis that in a world devoid of metaphysical, religious and ideological truth it is only language which gives substance to human existence.
		After the avant-garde revolution, the world remained empty and destroyed, and this caused a reaction among the young generation of poets who were to embrace post-modernist poetry.
		According to Tine Hribar - the Slovene philosopher who has compiled an anthology of contemporary Slovene poetry, accompanied by a lucid essay - the precursors of post-modernism are Veno Taufer, Ivo Svetina and Boris A. Novak.

	[Projekat Rastko] Vladimir Corovic: Crna knjiga - Patnje Srba Bosne i Hercegovine za vreme svetskog rata 1914-1918. ...
		Njihovo ponašanje bilo je takve vrste, da je jedan nemački zagrebački list tim povodom morao napisati, da su se frankovačke demonstracije izvrgle u obične puste scene, "koje sigurno nisu takve, da se mogu osetiti kao interpretacije iskrene tuge radi strahovitog gubitka, koji je pretrpela sva monarhija uopšte, a Sloveni monarhije posebno tim ubistvom prestolonaslednika".
		Kad je, na primer, poslat iz Mostara sudski tajnik Tertelj u Čapljinu, da provede istragu radi događaja sa crkvom u Klepcima, svetina mu prosto nije dala uredovati, a mesne vlasti nisu ni pokušale da pribave autoriteta redu i zakonu.
		Svetina ih je dočekala u Aradu na stanici grdnjom, kamenjem i ciglama, dok je tobožnja bolja publika pljuvala na njih sa prozora i balkona.

		Na 1975 wendden de auteurs zich van het modernisme af en werden door het Europese postmodernisme beïnvloed.
		In de poëzie is dat vooral zichtbaar in de motieven die vaak tot de volks- en/of mythische en symbolistische traditie teruggaan (Boris A. Novak, Milan Klec, Milan Jesih, Svetlana Makarovic, Ivo Svetina...).
		In de proza is de roman weer dikker, langer geworden en het verhaal minder gefragmenteerd (Drago Jancar, Branko Gradisnik, Mate Dolenc …) en de toneelschrijvers keren terug tot de historische thema's en tot het sociale of zelfs politieke engagement hoewel ze de moderne technieken blijven hanteren (werken van Dusan Jovanovic, Drago Jancar, Rudi Seligo …).
